The James McBey: His Art, His World exhibition ran at the Udny Arms Hotel in Newburgh, Aberdeenshire, from 20 Sept. to 21 Sept. 2025, the Shadows & Light exhibition at Aberdeen Art Gallery from 11 Feb. to 28 May 2023.

James McBey: His Art, His World was curated by all four members of the Newburgh & Ythan Community Trust-sponsored James McBey Project (Phil Astley, Jane Bradford, Ron Macdonald & Alasdair Soussi).

✨17 pieces (incl. 16 original artworks) on show. ✨1st time that the McBey showstopper Zorah: Moroccan Girl Sleeping was on public display since 2023 in New York. ✨300+ visitors through the doors between Friday evening (Sept. 19) & 6pm Sunday (Sept. 21). ✨20 copies of SHADOWS & LIGHT: The Extraordinary Life of James McBey on sale. All 20 copies sold. Watch this space for more initiatives from the Newburgh & Ythan Community Trust-sponsored James McBey Project!
